@leforme44 ---Hi Pat. I believe your silk pieces are doilies. It is not unusual for them to have been made in sets of 3. And, yes, I should think they have some value. Do some eBay searching for silk doilies.

@leforme44 Yes , it could be a sewing box. Is it deep enough to hold spools of thread? Or , perhaps a box for small keepsake items. I think the keepsake idea is a bit more 'romantic' than sewing. LOL.! In any case I think it is quite a desirable item if you can just get the attention of the right set of buyers.

@leforme44 ---- Really a guess but I suspect that someone was showing off their wood working skills. Maybe the box was made for a specific object. Maybe a book. It is unique in that the wood worker probably made only one just like that one. Value is anybodies guess. If it were mine I would start it at $50 plus. And maybe a lot more.
