• Oh, mim, we were so blessed to be able to meet Carol! We had a blast, and I would look over at her and say "Carol, you are here" and just hugged on her! She, too is just how she appears on here, and you would be thrilled to spend time with her, just as we were. She is so entertaining, and we both felt like we were meeting a sister. If you ever get the opportunity to meet someone like that, do it! And you should make it #1 on your list to make it happen. Wow, it was the greatest, it really was. 🙂

  • thanks Helen. I see I typed gold instead of golf. That typo is an indicator of the order of importance they have in my mind. 😉

I am going to meet ginnyrose next week. I am so excited!!

  • Our son sent us this joke, and I thought bama would enjoy it. I recall you liked to fish, maybe I'm mixed up with gold. Anyway, it's a cute joke.
Jesus and Moses are playing golf in Heaven when they come to the par-three 17th hole, a long carry over water to an island green.

Moses tees off with a 3-wood and hits the green. Jesus takes out his 5-iron and says, "I'm going to hit a 5-iron because Arnold Palmer would hit a 5-iron from here."

Jesus tees it up and hits a lofted iron shot that finishes 25 yards short of the green and in the water.

Jesus turns to Moses and says, "How about parting the water so I can play my ball where it lies?"

Moses says, "No way. You foolishly chose the wrong club because of your Arnold Palmer fantasy and I'm not going to be a party to it!"

Jesus shrugs and starts walking on the water to where his ball went in. Just then, a foursome approaching the tee box sees Jesus walking on the water.

One of them asks Moses, "Who does that guy think he is, Jesus Christ?"

Moses turns and says, "No, he thinks he's Arnold Palmer!"

  • Did you do something to make the wood look like that or did Mother Nature do that?

  • They are super, jred, but I am enthralled with the finish on the wood! 🙂

  • bama, I read your teeks board on ebay for years. I know about Howard and his shrimps. LOL The world's most spoiled cat, who doesn't know him? My owner, a little shih tzu, is getting her teeth cleaned after Christmas. Mommy is a nervous wreck.

  • bama, we lost our power for 5 days from an ice storm. It was February. In Ohio. We hung in there until the last day; we went to MILs. She had power off and on. Whew, you get a whole new appreciation, don't you!? It really was beautiful to look at but after the first day, we had seen enough. 😉

  • When I moved from Ohio to Mobile, Alabama, I was only 19 years old. The first time they had hurricane warnings, the public service announcements told us what to buy, and batteries were one of the things on the list. I bought everything they said, and filled my bathtub with water, etc. Did everything! It was only after the hurricane that I realized I didn't have anything that required batteries...a radio and a flashlight. Yep, pretty dumb Yankee but I learned from experiences and that's the best way!
Helen, funny that you mention the clerk's attitude because it amazed me that if I went to the mall in the morning, the clerk would mosey over with a cup of coffee in her hand. And offer me one!! LOL That just doesn't happen up here!

How clever to make the arm warmers! I had never heard of them.

bama, the people of the south...there is no place in the USA where you find such caring, helpful people. I had absolutely nothing, and the girl who hired me actually furnished my apartment for me with furniture from her and her mom. I still count them among the 10 special people in my life (they beat out some blood kin).

I'm putting Christmas trees up...I'm on a pretty good roll. LOL

    Y'all take care.

  • Hi Friends! I thought I'd drop by to see if mim had been here. Hope you are feeling better!

bama, when I was single, I used to think that people must have lined their driveways with bread when it snowed because when they predicted snow - wham - all the bread shelves were empty!! After I got married and was blessed with a DH and 3 sons in a 10-minute ceremony, I discovered that when snow was predicted, I went out and bought bread. LOL Live and learn.

Not many using these nice new board. And I am guilty as charged. We really should be taking advantage.

  • Well, jred. The bad thing about seeing Leon and Mary...it had to have been a long time ago. Which means we are old. LOL It was in the 70's. =:o

  • Oh, Ginny! I got to see Leon and Mary in concert, too! It was marvelous! They played grand pianos, back to back.

  • bama, just think *evil grin* we can call our old buddy John Bodine anything we want here. Bless mah stars! 😉

  • May I add another interesting stirrup related item? It's called a stirrup cup, and they can sell for thousands!

  • I have some pretty good pics of you Ruthie. Don't temp me. 😉

  • Hi Ginny! These new boards are so nice! Curt is working on our AC board. He's the greatest! The pic is really me, at age 2, filling my pipe with Union Leader. LOL
